Camu Camu
It´s origin is from the Amazonian rainforest of Peru. Contains Vitamin C (2g/100g), Vitamin B-complex (B1, B2, and B5) and Minerals: calcium, iron, phosphorus. Polyphenols and amino acids. It´s benefits are, among others: A stimulant of the nervous system. Contains phenyl ethylamine that acts as a stimulant and euforizant. Helps to increase the endorphins production and has the function of energetic food. It also contains antioxidants, a positive component for our cardiovascular system.
Cacao
It is a native fruit that comes from the Amazonian rainforest of Peru. Cacao presents hydrates of carbon and fat as well as minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and antioxidants. Good for stimulating the nervous system, contains phenyl ethylamine that acts as a stimulant and euforizant and to increase the endorphins production. It also functions as energetic food.
Chia
It is cultivated in the Andes of Peru. Highest vegetal supplier of alpha-linoleic fatty acid (Omega 3). High in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, protein and fiber (soluble and insoluble). Also it contains Vitamin B1, B2 and B3, potassium and zinc. A study in type 2 diabetics showed that chia seeds can significantly lower blood pressure and serve as a marker for inflammation.
Lucuma
Native fruit from Peru cultivated in the Andean valleys. High beta-carotene (vitamin A) content. Rich in vitamins B3 and B2. Good source of phosphorus, calcium, iron and zinc. The high content of Vitamin A promotes cellular growth and helps stimulate the immune system. It is also a fiber rich food which can help the digestive system. Recommended as a natural low glycemic sweetener.
Quinoa
This grain was domesticated around Titicaca Lake on the Andean region. It is high in protein and fiber, and has a relatively low glycemic index value. It provides all the essential amino acids and also has a high content of antioxidants. Good source of several minerals: manganese, phosphorus, copper, folate, iron, magnesium and zinc.
Maca
It is a native root from the Peruvian Andes, where three varieties of maca are cultivated: Yellow Maca, Red Maca and Black Maca. Maca roots contain not only lipid, protein, carbohydrate, fiber, vitamins and minerals, but also a good number of phytonutrients like glucosinolate, flavonoid, alkaloid and steroid.
Sacha Inchi
Sacha Inchi is a plant that grows in the Amazonian forest of Peru. This plant has high levels of omega 3 (more than 48%), 6 and 9, proteins and vitamin E. It also presents anti-oxidant, vitamin A and alpha tocopherol.
Yacon
It is widely cultivated in the Andean region of Peru. Yacon roots have a high content of inulin and FOS (fructose polymers). It helps to absorb calcium and vitamins lessening blood sugar peaks from eating sweet foods. Prebiotic effect on intestinal mucosa, protective effect on risk reduction of colon cancer. Potential treatment of constipation.
